It has been more than a year since I joined Odesk. Before joining Odesk, I got to enjoy receiving yearly bonuses especially the 13th month pay. Now, for the first time in ten years, I will not be able to get any percentage or part of a bonus.

When I first decided to become a freelancer, I knew that not receiving benefits (like bonuses, insurance, etc.) is a huge disadvantage that I have to accept. Last year I was still able to get a small part of my 13th month since it is based on the number of months I stayed with an employer. But now, I have to say good-bye to bonuses.

Well, that just means that I have to strive to be a better freelancer so that I can get more projects… and get more work done. That said, I better go back to work.
